There was still diphtheria, scarlet fever, salmonella outbreaks, and preparation of autogenous vaccines. Tuberculosis was common. Milk was not pasteurized; it came from tuberculin-tested cows. Each lab had an animal house where students cleaned, fed, and learned breeding methods.
